Where To Find The Dragon Communion Priestess How To Turn Into A Dragon
One of the most intriguing mechanics in the previous Dark Souls games was the ability to turn into a dragon. This usually required completing a quest, and it was a unique feature we were surprised not to see in Elden Ring.

There are some great incantations to have fun with by delving into the Dragon Communion in Elden Ring.
While Elden Ring does include dragon incantations, the dragon form was missing—until the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which brought it back. If you want to complete your dragon build, here’s how you can get the item to obtain your dragon form.
Where To Find The Dragon Communion Priestess
The first thing you need to do is locate the Dragon Communion Priestess. She can be found in the Jagged Peak region, which is located in the southwest part of the map. This region can only be accessed through the Dragon’s Pit dungeon.
Once you arrive at the Dragon’s Pit Terminus Site of Grace, head south. Follow the road until you see a massive dead dragon and an altar. This is where you’ll find the Dragon Communion Priestess standing next to the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion.
Interact with her, and she will offer you the option to “Devour draconic essence.” Accept her offer, and you will receive the Ancient Dragon’s Blessing. This blessing is similar to Baldachin’s Blessing from Fia, and if you choose to use it, it will increase all your damage negation. The Priestess will then ask you to seek out Bayle and defeat him.
We are not entirely sure if this step is necessary, but it’s safe to do so to avoid any risks.
Where To Find Bayle
After you finish talking with the Dragon Communion Priestess, head back the way you came and this time take the east path. Cross the bridge and activate the Site of Grace there. After that, you’ll need to defeat two dragons and continue forward.
The path is straightforward from here, leading upwards to another dragon boss fight. After that, you will reach the mountainside where there is lightning. Keep going, but be careful not to get hit by it.
You may encounter Igon along the way. If you talk to him after the two dragons fight, he will give you
Igon’s Furled Finger
, which can be used to summon him to help during the Bayle boss fight.
Eventually, you’ll know you’ve reached Bayle when you enter a large open arena. Bayle is one of the hardest bosses in this expansion, so be sure you are at a high level, have good and maxed-out equipment, and have a high Shadow Realm Blessing as well.
How To Turn Into A Dragon
If you’ve successfully defeated Bayle the Dread, return to the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion. Here, where the Dragon Communion Priestess was standing, you’ll find loot. Pick it up to obtain a new weapon called Flowerstone Gavel and, most importantly, the Priestess Heart item.
The Priestess Heart is the item we need to take on the form of a dragon, similar to mechanics seen in Dark Souls games. In order to transform, simply unequip all of your armor and use the heart. Using the heart again while already in dragon form will enhance your Dragon Cult Incantations, perfect for finalizing your dragon build.
Two things to keep in mind while in dragon form:
You cannot wear any armor
while in dragon form.
If you want to remove your dragon form,
it can only be reverted by dying.
