Dragon Priestess Questline (Step-by-Step) Dragon Priestess Quest Alternative Ending

The Dragon Priestess is a new NPC found at the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. A servant of the Dragonlord Placidusax, she demands the Tarnished exact vengeance on Bayle the Dread, another dragon who betrayed her master and inflicted a grievous wound upon him.

There are two different ways to complete this questline, each with completely different rewards at the end. Knowing what’s at stake and how a player will be rewarded is key to figuring out which option is worth taking.

Reach the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion by going through the Dragon’s Pit dungeon east of Castle Ensis and turning south at the Foot of the Jagged Peak. Talk to the Priestess at the Altar to hear about Bayle the Dread’s crime against the Dragonlord. Defeat Bayle the Dread at the top of the Jagged Peak. Return to the Grand Altar to find the Priestess dead.

The Player Obtaining The Priestess Heart

Interact with the Priestess’ dead body to receive the rewards:

The Priestess Heart is used to transform into a dragon. This transformation is only possible when no armor is equipped and lasts until the next death. Priestess Heart is reusable and will not be consumed.

Completing the
Domain of Dragons Painting puzzle
rewards players with the Rock Heart, which, similar to the Priestess Heart, can be used to transform into a dragon, only of a different type. This item is unrelated to the Dragon Priestess questline.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Dragon Cult Priestess NPC Questline Dragon Lore

There is another possible ending for the Dragon Priestess that requires following the steps below.

Reach the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion. Talk to the Dragon Priestess. Give the Priestess Thiollier’s Concoction at night in order to put her to sleep. Defeat Bayle the Dread. Return to the Grand Altar and talk to the Priestess again.

If done correctly, the Dragon Priestess will remain alive, forgoing her former ties to the Dragonlord and choosing the Tarnished (you) as her new master. Players will receive the following rewards:

Dragonbolt of Florissax Dragon Communion Priestess Spirit Ash

Thiollier’s Concoction is a potent aphrodisiac that can put even dragons to sleep, but mortals die if they drink it. This Concoction can be obtained by choosing the correct dialogue option during Thiollier’s questline. Details can be found here.

Whether or not players complete

Igon

’s questline and summon him during the fight against Bayle has no bearing on the completion of the Dragon Priestess questline. All the Dragon Priestess demands is that Bayle be defeated; Igon is not a part of it. However, it is recommended players
undertake Igon’s quest
at the same time, as both missions have the same objective and can be completed at the same time.
