National Eucharistic Congress reveals details for historic  Eucharistic procession in Indianapolis

CV NEWS FEED // The National Eucharistic Congress released details about the major Eucharistic procession taking place in Indianapolis on Saturday, July 20; which could become the largest in US history.

The procession will begin on Saturday, July 19th at 3pm. The route is approximately 1 mile long and runs from the Georgia Street entrance of the Indianapolis Convention Center (ICC) to the Indiana War Memorial and American Legion Mall.

The liturgical procession will feature hundreds of bishops, thousands of clergy, seminarians, religious brothers and sisters, and children who made their first communion this year.

Tens of thousands of laypeople and families will line the streets, join the procession, and finally gather in the park for public Eucharistic adoration and Benediction.

Before 3 PM, individuals are encouraged to find a spot along the procession route on N. Meridian Street. The NEC is calling on participants to line the sidewalks and get ready to welcome our Eucharistic Lord as He arrives.

The NEC advises large groups wishing to process together to gather on Capitol Avenue south of the Indiana Convention Center (ICC). All group members must be in place by 2:30 PM. After this time, access to the group gathering location will be restricted. Groups are responsible for organizing and lining up their members.

After the Blessed Sacrament and the procession pass, attendees are invited to join the end of the procession and walk to the Benediction at the Indiana War Memorial and American Legion Mall.

Prayers and hymn lyrics will be available in a Magnificat worship aid provided at the conference. Flags and banners are allowed only outdoors and not inside the ICC or Lucas Oil Stadium.

The NEC advises attendees to plan for Benediction and departure at the American Legion Mall around 4:45 PM.
